About

I am a PhD student in Organic Chemistry at the University of Glasgow where I am researching new molecules which exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). Put simply, these are molecules that give off light when a current is applied to them and they are heated up a bit.

In my spare time I will be running this blog on my progress and various quite interesting aspects of Organic Chemistry.

I studied Chemistry as a BSc (Hons) at the University of Aberdeen followed by an MSc in Analytical Chemistry before becoming a secondary school science teacher in the Highlands for a few years. In 2020 I began my PhD at the University of Glasgow.
